conva is built local-first. This note explains, in plain terms, what happens to your audio and your data. It’s written for the current beta; we’ll update it as the product grows.

Your call audio stays on your device

Capture and speech-to-text run locally on your computer using an on-device model. Your microphone and system audio are transcribed on your machine and are not uploaded to conva’s servers.

Nothing is stored unless you save it

Transcripts and recordings live on your device. A conversation is only kept when you choose to save it, and it’s saved locally. There is no account required to listen and transcribe.

Optional cloud engines are opt-in

You can choose to use a cloud speech or language provider (for example, for faster transcription or a specific model). This is off by default. When you turn it on, you supply your own API key, and audio or text is sent to that provider under their terms — never routed through us.

The beta waitlist

If you join the beta, we collect the email address you submit so we can send your invite and occasional product updates. We don’t sell it, and you can ask us to delete it at any time by emailing hello@getconva.com.
